Row 1: (RS) K4, 2x2 rib to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 2 (WS): Repeat row 1. Continue in this manner with first and last 4 sts in garter st and rest in 2x2 rib for 3", ending with a WS row.
Next row (RS): K across.
Next row (WS): k4, p to last 4 sts, k4. Repeat last two rows until piece measures 11 (12,13)" or desired length to underarm. End with WS row. Divide for armholes. K4, k21 (24, 27), BO 6, k 46(52,58), BO 6, k 21(24, 27), k4.
Next row (WS): working on left front only, keeping 4 front edge stitches in garter st. and remainder in st st, dec at armhole edge every other row (EOR) 3 (5,7) times. At the same time, when 4( 4 1/2, 5)" from beg of armhole, begin neck shaping. On WS row BO 4 sts then work even across.
Next row (RS) dec 1 st at neck edge and every other row 2(3, 3) more times. When armhole measures 5 1/2(6, 6 1/2)" end with WS row. Next two alternate rows (RS) BO 3(3, 4), k across. Next row p across. Next row BO remaining 5(5, 4) sts. Make right front same as left front reversing shaping.
Back: Joining yarns at back left armhole edge, p across back (WS).
Next row (RS), dec 1 st at each end of this and every alternate row 3(5, 7) times. Work even until armhole measures 6 (6 1/2, 7)" BO all 40 (42, 44) sts.
Sleeve: (Make two) CO 18 (20,22) sts. Work 2x2 rib for 4". Working in st st, inc 1 st at each end of every 5th row 10 (12, 14) times, 38 (44, 50) sts. Work even until sleeve length is 18 (19, 20)" or desired length to underarm, ending with WS row. BO 3 st at beginning of next 2 rows, then dec 1 st at each end of every other row 3 (5, 7) times, 26 (28, 30) sts. Work even until 4 1/2 (5,5)", above BO for armhole. Dec 2 sts at each end of next 2 (3, 4) alternate rows. BO remaining 18 (16, 14) sts. Sew shoulder seams. With WS of jacket facing you, starting at left front at BO garter st.band, pu 42 (42, 46) sts around neck edge, ending at BO sts for right front garter st band (this will produce a notched collar).
