Hint: Measure and cut fringe before you start knitting scarf.
You will know that you are done knitting when you are out of yarn.
Note: The measurements before dropping the stitches will be narrower than the finished size.
Scarf: Cast on 23 sts. Work even in garter stitch (knit every row) until you have approximately 9 yards of yarn leftover.
Next to Last Row: *Knit 5, drop the next stitch and unravel a row or two, then pick up the dropped uppermost "long stitch" and knit it throught the back loop* (this replaces the dropped stitch). Repeat * to * , ending with Knit 5.
Bind Off loosely on the last row.
Now for the Fun Part! Go back and unravel the 3 dropped stitches and make 3 ladders all the way back to the cast on edge. Don't worry.....it's fun!
Fringe: Cut 46 - 15" using 4 pieces for each fringe, attach 6 fringes on each end. Fringe is tied into the ends of the scarf. Take 4 strands of Recycled Silk and 2 strand of Springy Capelli and 1 of each Lurex Ribbon, Cotton Ribbon and Bumble Bee yarns, fold in half and use crochet hook to pull fringe through and knot. Attach 6 fringed tassels evenly across end of each side of scarf.
